The Stylish Guide to: Is Caring About Your Appearance Superficial?

Do you feel like caring too much about your appearance tends to be superficial?

Girl, I was right there with you.

While I was searching for a job in the fashion industry, I prayed specifically for God to give me a position with a Christian-based company. Because if you know the fashion world, you know it isn’t exactly Christian. So when God placed it on my heart to start Stylish, my first thought was, “I wanted something Christian-oriented… not superficial. What is more superficial than clothes?”

But I followed in obedience.

And He showed me just how opposite of superficial this business really is. God has used clothing as a way for me to minister to other people. He has given me the purpose of helping women see themselves through His eyes, not their own.

Still think your appearance is mostly superficial? Let me tell you why it’s not.

It Changes How You Carry Yourself

I can tell you there is a stark difference in how I carry myself when I’m wearing leggings and a t-shirt versus when I’m wearing an outfit I carefully curated to complement my body type.

Leggings and t-shirts might be comfortable, but they aren’t exactly what you reach for when you want to make the best first impression.

Young mom who doesn’t care and only wants comfort? I have been there. Why try when your priority isn’t you?

There are seasons of life when your wardrobe reflects other priorities, and that’s okay. But when you’re ready to step out of that season and start feeling like yourself again, just know I’m here to help.

Your Confidence Goes Through the Roof

When you’re wearing an outfit that you know looks good, fits well, and flatters your body, your confidence skyrockets.

Coworkers notice.
Friends notice.
Family notices.

And when those compliments start rolling in, they only reinforce how good you already feel.

Your mood improves.
Your energy changes.
Your relationships and work even feel easier.

I don’t know the official statistics on this… but I’m pretty sure they’d be good. It’s science. Look it up.

You See Yourself the Way God Sees You

As women, we tend to look in the mirror and focus on everything we’re not.

“I need to lose weight.”
“I need Botox.”
“I wish I looked like her.”
“This looked different on that influencer.”
“I need to be a better mom.”

The list never ends. God hears us speak to ourselves this way.

And He placed it on my heart to help change that.

My goal isn’t to tell you to spend more money or chase trends. My goal is to help you see the beauty God already created in you—and to learn how to dress in a way that reflects that.

Not society’s standards.

His.

Style Doesn’t Have to Be Superficial

If you’re ready to look in the mirror and feel better about yourself—not in a trendy or societal-pressure way, but in a God-honoring way—I would love to help.

Helping women look and feel their best is far from superficial.

In fact, it might be one of the most meaningful things God has called me to do.
